Cancer Council branches

Branch volunteers do a tremendous amount of work each year in supporting Cancer Council SA, and in so doing create enormous goodwill in their communities.

The efforts of Branch members in supporting the major Cancer Council fundraising events, like Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, Daffodil Day, Girls Night In, Pink Ribbon Day, Relay for Life are excellent, and is especially appreciated.

In addition to the above work, most Branches conduct fundraising events of their own using local initiatives to create events that have a local community flavour. Amazing results are achieved through these fundraisers.
Part of the role of branches is creating a public awareness of cancer and informing communities about the information and services available to the public.

Fundraising is a very important component of the work done by volunteers as funding is required to support research into the causes and treatment of cancer, as well as the provision of information literature and support services for people with cancer and their families.

The reasons for becoming involved as a volunteer for Cancer Council are wide and varied, but the common theme is that many people have been through the experience, or know of others who have. Through volunteering a sense of satisfaction and fulfilment is realised in helping others.

If you would like to become a volunteer, you can either contact committee members at the Branches listed on the left, or for more information, please contact Cancer Council SA on (08) 8291 4111, or toll free 1800 188 070.
